Living in a Hole in Switzerland

I could live in a hole as long as it’s good design. Take this Swiss Villa designed by Dutch Architectural Studio SeARCH and Christian Muller Architects. It’s a beautiful building that blends in with the hillside, although the fencing surrounding it distracts from the visual form. The exterior patio area is an amazing use of exterior space and captures the view with a subtle smile-like curve framing the mountain in the distance. The interior appears a bit cold with the harsh angles and exposed concrete, which would be too much for long winters. So maybe I could live in a hole during the summer and spend the winter in a tree.

Here’s to the last Monday of an awful decade. Goodbye naughties and good riddance! Let the celebrations begin and may the new year and new decade be full of happiness, optimism, and opportunity for all.

Blame it on the Pop or Blame it on DJ Earworm

I blame the fact that this mashup keeps playing in my head on DJ Earworm. Not only because it’s catchy and danceable, but because I’ve been hearing it blasting from the room next to me for the last month during it’s creation. There are some truly awful songs, cough, cough, um Miley Cyrus, in the mix and Earworm was able to make them into a great mashup that’s gonna make a lot of dance floors happy come this New Years Eve. So when Billboard gives you a bunch of rotten lemons, let Earworm take the top 25 of them and make it into something amazing that will make your mouth water and your ears lust for more.

“I need a fix cause I’m goin’ down”. Seventeen year old Sky Ferreira and DJ Skeet Skeet mix it up with Sky singing The Beatles’ Happiness is a Warm Gun laid over some Dr. Dre to create a memorable song that keeps repeating in my head.
