Living in a Hole in Switzerland
December 29th, 2009 • Architecture

I could live in a hole as long as it’s good design. Take this Swiss Villa designed by Dutch Architectural Studio SeARCH and Christian Muller Architects. It’s a beautiful building that blends in with the hillside, although the fencing surrounding it distracts from the visual form. The exterior patio area is an amazing use of exterior space and captures the view with a subtle smile-like curve framing the mountain in the distance. The interior appears a bit cold with the harsh angles and exposed concrete, which would be too much for long winters. So maybe I could live in a hole during the summer and spend the winter in a tree.
